Thanathip is the Managing Partner of Thanathip & Partners. Prior to setting up Thanathip & Partners, Thanathip was the sole Thai corporate and securities partner at Linklaters from 1998 to February 2005.
His main expertise covers all aspects of M&A, corporate finance, capital markets, IPO and listing. He led his team in several high profile M&A, fund raising, privatisation and IPO transactions which include the sale of FIDF’s entire interest in BankThai to CIMB Group, GMM Media’s acquisition of Matichon and public offerings of shares in Airports of Thailand, Bangkok Bank, and Krung Thai Bank.
Thanathip has spent most of his career in Thailand and has also worked in Australia.
Before joining Linklaters, he worked with Mallesons Stephen Jacques in Sydney, International Legal Counsellors Thailand (ILCT), and Hunton & Williams.
He obtained his Bachelor of Law from Thammasat University, passed the bar and obtained two Masters of Law degrees from both Southern Methodist University and University of Pennsylvania.
Thanathip was a lecturer of law for undergraduate students at the Faculty of Commerce and Accountancy of Thammasat University, and for postgraduate students at Ramkhamhaeng University.
Thanathip has been appointed by the Thai SEC as a member of the Take Over Panel since 2003.
