Arunee is a co-founder partner of Thanathip & Partners. Prior to setting up Thanathip & Partners, she was a partner in the banking and project groups as well as the restructuring group of Allen & Overy, Bangkok from December 2000 to January 2005.
She has been involved in a number of high profile banking and restructuring transactions including the financing of Bangkok Mass Transit System Public Company Limited pursuant to its court approved rehabilitation plan, the sale of FIDF’s entire interest in BankThai to CIMB Group, the refinancing of Thuen-Hinboun Power Project, the business reorganisation of Alphatec, the Phayathai Hospital group, Raimon Land and Christiani & Nelsen, the sale and purchase of offshore creditors’ interest of Thai Petrochemical Industry (now IRPC) and the merger of TMB Bank (previously known as Thai Military Bank), DBS Thai Danu Bank and the Industrial Finance Corporation of Thailand (IFCT).
Her experience includes advising banks and borrowers and large multi-national companies investing in various industries Thailand. In particular, she advised major insurance companies on investments and regulatory and compliance related matters as well as acted for American International Assurance and AIG Group or their financing to Central Pattana and Bupa International in its acquisition of the entire stake in Blue Cross Insurance (the former name of “Bupa Health Insurance (Thailand) Limited.
Prior to Allen & Overy, Bangkok, she worked with International Legal Counsellors Thailand (ILCT) where she became a partner in 1998.
Arunee obtained her Bachelor of Law from Thammasat University in 1985, and was admitted to the Thai Bar Association, and obtained her Masters of Arts in Political Science from Western Michigan University and her Masters of Law from Tulane University.
Arunee was a law lecturer for undergraduate students at the Faculty of Law, Thammasat University and for Civil Military program organised by Kasetsart University.
